What is the NYCHTHEMERON?

NYCHTHEMERON takes its name from the ancient Greek word meaning ‘a complete day and night’.

This is not a race, it is a personal effort against time, terrain and fatigue, ridden on carefully designed gravel routes across the UK and beyond.

There are 34 routes to select from all over the UK and even a couple of routes in Italy.

Complete the challenge and win prizes.

The challenge structure is simple:

  1. Choose a GRVL‑approved NYCHTHEMERON route (12hr or 24hr).
  2. Share the challenge with 2 friends using hashtag #NYCHTHEMERON
  3. Complete the route within a continuous 12‑hour or 24‑hour window.
  4. Submit your Strava or Komoot activity to hello@grvl.com for verification.

Each route has been meticulously planned to be completed in 12 or 24 hours

UP TO 50% OFF THE NYCHTHEMERON JERSEY

Designed specifically for this challenge, the NYCHTHEMERON Jersey reflects the psychological edge of endurance riding. The psychedelic graphic nods to the altered mental state often triggered by sleep deprivation, fatigue and long hours in the saddle, when reality blurs and focus narrows.

Technically built for the effort, it features a tailored aero fit, ventilated back panel, three rear pockets and laser-cut hems with silicone grip. Constructed from sustainable OEKO-TEX recycled and biodegradable fabric, it is fast-wicking, breathable and UV resistant.

Complete a 24-hour route to receive 50% OFF a NYCHTHEMERON Jersey or complete a 12-hour route to receive 25% OFF.
